Markers and maintenance

Record something that needs repair

Save the approximate location, note and photograph of a problem so it can be found again.

What you will haveA Repair Needed marker attached to the correct field record and available in reports.
AllowAbout 2 minutes

Before you start

  • Open the correct field record before adding the marker.
  • Stand somewhere safe with a useful view of the problem.
  • A marker is an approximate field reference and must not be used to decide where it is safe to excavate.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open Field tools

From Survey details, start phone location so AcreTrace has a current position.

  2. 2

    Choose Repair Needed

Add a marker and select Repair Needed. Give it a short practical name such as North fence break.

  3. 3

    Add useful detail

Describe the work required, urgency, access or materials in the note. Add a photograph if it will help another person recognise the problem.

  4. 4

    Save and check

Confirm the marker appears on the field map. It remains attached to the field while offline.

  5. 5

    Find it later

Open the marker and start location guidance to see straight-line distance and bearing. Continue to use normal field judgement and safe access.

If you get stuck

If Add marker is unavailable, start phone location and allow precise location permission.

If the recorded accuracy is poor, move to clearer sky and refresh the position before saving.

For buried services, use approved plans and locating equipment before excavation.
