AcreTrace is currently going through field testing and release preparation.

A Google Play link will appear here when testing is complete and the public Android release is ready.

Yes. Open Field Register and choose Import KML, KMZ or GeoJSON.

AcreTrace reads WGS84 latitude/longitude polygons on the phone, previews the outlines and lets you choose the fields and names before import.

The original file is not uploaded. Unsupported shapes and inner holes are reported instead of being silently guessed.

Yes. AcreTrace's OS Maps connection has been configured and verified.

Turn on OS OpenData background map in Settings to show free Light-style tiles while online.

If a tile cannot load, AcreTrace explains that the OS background is unavailable and keeps the normal field plan visible. Saved records and calculations still work offline, and OS tiles are not put into PDF reports.

Add an optional client name, job or quote reference and work description to a measured field, route or distance, then create a PDF for the client.

AcreTrace does not calculate rates, create formal quotations or replace invoicing software.

The Field Register wizard accepts a nine-digit SBI, displays the licence requirements, fetches GeoJSON directly from Defra and lets you preview and select parcels before import.

The raw SBI is discarded after the request and never goes through an AcreTrace server.

On refresh, AcreTrace shows added, changed and removed parcels without silently replacing an official baseline, a local edit or a boundary you surveyed yourself.

Your AcreTrace records are stored on your Android device.

It's a good idea to create a complete AcreTrace backup regularly, particularly after important field work.

Always make a current backup before changing phone, uninstalling AcreTrace or clearing its application data.

You can select several fields — or a complete holding — and create one KML map containing them together.

This can then be opened in compatible mapping software such as Google Earth.

It depends what you mean by survey.

Phone GPS/GNSS is useful for practical field measurements, records and approximate locations, but its accuracy varies and it should not be treated as survey-grade positioning.

AcreTrace shows the accuracy reported by the phone so you have some context for the result.

For legal boundaries or work requiring professional surveying accuracy, use the appropriate equipment and expertise.

You can save a marker to help you remember an approximate location.

Never rely on that marker to decide where it is safe to excavate.

Use current service plans, suitable cable or pipe locating equipment and proper safe-dig procedures before breaking ground.

Yes.

Choose the Repair Needed marker while you're in the field.

Add a note and, if useful, a photograph.

The marker is stored with the field and AcreTrace can later show the distance and bearing back to it.

Repair markers can also appear in field reports and exports.

Marker and exclusion lists can be adjusted to suit the way you work.

Built-in categories can be renamed or hidden without deleting markers already stored against your fields.

Yes. A limited closed beta is being prepared for eligible Android users who can remain opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and provide genuine feedback.
